INSTANT: SEPTEMBER

instant september

Fall’s here! While we don’t particularly celebrate the four seasons in Malaysia, it’s always nice to see the change in the collections of clothes that arrive in our stores – the warm colours of autumn, beating around shades of brown, orange and red.

Dear God, September started good. And then it kinda crashed along the way. Honestly, I can’t wait for October to swish by, because that would mean we’re just a month away from Christmas, and hopefully a really long break everyone on earth perhaps, could use. Can you tell October to be kind? And make it a quick one too. I’m working all of the month’s weekends, on site if not from home, and I really am dreading it.

I hope your October is great.(:

INSTANT: JUNE

instant june

June, june, june.

A month that went by, perhaps somewhat too quickly, pushing me two months closer to my UK trip that I am both very much and not very much looking forward to. Hah! I’ll fill you in on this one soon.

But anyway, I hope you lovelies have had a great June. And in July, let’s accomplish bigger, better things!

INSTANT: MAY

instant may

May, 2014.

So quickly, it’s Hello, June. May’s been pretty eventful for me – travels, new food places, deaths, and close to a couple of weeks of stressful breakdowns. But I’m here. Here to welcome June, the ohmygawd-is-it-already-mid-of-year? month.

June’s always been that “second chance” for me, read: resolutions and plans that didn’t successfully kick off at the beginning of the year. Haha! So it’s now, or pretty much neverat least within the year, that is.

So, swim. Run. And above all, live. That’s six months for me to do all these.(:

To whatever you have in mind as your “second chance” to accomplish within the year, I hope it starts well, and ends with a bang. Three cheers to six great and gorgeous months ahead! Cheers, cheers, cheers.

INSTANT: APRIL

instant april

Dear God, April’s been good. Thank You.

So, April marked the beginning of new things in my life – new people, new workspace, new experiences, and above all, a new happiness. I find myself feeling beyond blessed at times like this, really.(:

April also marked the end of my friend’s hospital stay of over a month due to a bike accident. And I can’t thank God enough for keeping him alive and well through out his rehabilitation, as he battled a broken arm, fractured ribs and a lacerated liver. Today, he stands well and healthy, resting up to prepare him for the arm surgery he will undergo in a week’s time. To all who knew him, and to those who didn’t know him but read about him through my post and prayed for him anyway, thank you so, so much!

And now comes May, which, similar to every other month, I pray would be merciful and fruitful. I hope that May takes me places – mentally, spiritually and physically. I hope that May inspires me to do more, laugh more and see only the best in people and situations. And it’s my greatest hop that May does all that and more for you too, my friends.

Have an amazing May, as we countdown oh-too-soon to the mid of year 2014! Cheers!

INSTANT: MARCH

instant march

March, March, March.

March has been fleeting. There’s been so much that have happened within the weeks of this month, both good and bad.

The good: adding to my portfolio a new interior designing and styling job that I’m really happy with, a trip to amazing Bali, and catching Captain America two days in a row with fun people.

The bad: MH370’s mysterious disappearance, an ex-colleague’s demise that I found out only six months after, and a friend’s motor accident that has left him with a broken arm, fractured ribs, a lacerated liver, and internal bleeding that almost took his life.

Ka Kin, we are all rooting for you to get better and back on your feet soonest. We can’t wait to accompany you on a food hunt as soon as you can be discharged, to put back on all that you’ve lost. It’s been close to a month now since you’ve been in hospital but I hope you know how much your friends and family love you, and we hope only that you fight a good fight and get back up.

To the friends and families of passengers and crew members onboard flight MH370, my heart and prayer go out to you all, praying that you’d find the strength to face such a hard time of such an immense lost. I know the verdict of a crash seems almost unbelievable, but even as the world pull together their efforts to look for any signs bearing a possible link to the missing flight, I hope we will all stay strong and keep encouraging each other – as a friend, a search partner, a political figure, a relative, a pen pal – that we will just keep on keeping on. To all those who are out there doing the handwork of searching for any signs of the flight, thank you, thank you, and thank you. The world will never be able to thank you enough for all that you’ve done, and the stress that you’ve taken upon yourself to be part of.

April, I hope you bear good news and great opportunities in every way imaginable. I am counting on you. No, I mean…the world is counting on you.

INSTANT: JANUARY

instant januaryJanuary. Going as quickly as it came.

That said, it was a good month. I celebrated my 27th. I had a long Chinese New Year break. I got the closure I thought I could do without. I spent a lot of time in the company of amazing people. I got my accounts sorted out. I rid my room of the things that held memories. I lived the life I did before everything happened, and I lived it all in January.(:

I am counting on February to see bigger, better things come to past. I hope all you lovelies out there have had an amazing January and are ready to make headlines in fabulous February!

Thank You for everything in January.

INSTANT: DECEMBER

instant decemberDecember was a painful month. It was a lesson learnt, a love lost, and a memory erased.

But on the brighter side, I lived through it despite it all. To my friends who wouldn’t allow me to sleep in and grieve like a fool – Sammie and William, I can never thank you both enough for everything, from the coffee dates to the movie sessions, and New Year’s eve.(:

January will be better. It will.

INSTANT: NOVEMBER

instant novemberEveryone is aware of the Instagram hype and how just over a matter of weeks (or even hours?) since the app was introduced, everyone became an awesome photographer instantaneously thanks to the filters it offered. But I think what really sets the great users worth following apart from the I-shall-Instagram-everything users is the way they #1 compose their shots and #2 caption their shots. I never came close to becoming an Instagram-whore luckily, but what I failed to do was to pay attention to my captions. That was until I started following Colin Cabalka on Instagram.

This guy is amazing. And so are his subjects – his wife, his life and above all, his journeys.

So I’ve learnt now, to put more thought into my posts that go up on Instagram. It’s not about being ‘deep’ and ‘philosophical’, like some think it to be. But instead, I’d like to think that there’s a story to every picture that’s worth telling, and from your followers’ view – worth reading.

So here’s my November, in a handful of Instagram shots. If you’d like to follow me on Instagram, please feel free to!(:
